“The Second Story” is the event space we’ve been dreaming of…
Right across the street from our Real Estate office is 101 Central, a 1905 building which has recently received a luxury renovation. Taking over from Casey’s bar is a new restaurant and event space, adorned with gorgeous golden mirrors and a menu to satisfy any appetite.
Herb & Omni has been such a welcome addition to downtown Whitefish. Every time I walk by it I’m enticed by the glittering interior and am drawn to the grand staircase and what must be fantastically awaiting me on the second story of the building. Well, it turns out that The Second Story is the most incredible event space in Whitefish, elevating any event that it hosts to an entirely new level. I, for one, am excited for a new place to dance and hear live music right downtown. The Second Story describes themselves as “an entertainment venue where old charm meets modern sophistication,” and this is evident in every detail of the place, from decor, to the ambiance, to the unique talent beginning to grace the upstairs stage.
The Second Story is an adaptable venue, and is available to book for a range of functions for which you made need a stunning setting. Event requests can be made easily on 101centralwhitefish.com, but I’d recommend inquiring well in advance because there is no doubt that this space will be filled up with parties in no time. 101 Central even hosts their own entertainment, with Fridays in December bringing us The Second Story Band, an 8 piece ensemble doing jazzy, vintage covers and mash ups of iconic songs spanning genres and decades. I’ll definitely be keeping up with the events that The Second Story hosts themselves, while hoping to snag tickets or an invite to what everyone else gets up to in this snazzy venue. In fact, on January 26th and 27th, The Second Story will host “Women Who Rock,” featuring some of the best voices in the valley, Susan O'Dea, Halladay Quist and Meredith Patterson. We’ll be there, will you?
And, if there even could be a best part, it would have to be this: The Second Story boasts a rooftop sky bar space. It might be a bit chilly now, but come positive temperatures, it will be the perfect place to enjoy an evening of entertainment, local libations, and fresh air with a gorgeous view of our favorite Big Mountain. I truly can’t wait, and I’m racking my brain for any reason to throw a party just so we can put on our best for an evening at 101 Central.
101 Central has truly turned our little corner of Central Avenue into a destination. I love the way they’ve fused elegance and simplicity with what is at the heart of our community - gathering together to be well fed with locally grown foods, to laugh, sing, dance, and enjoy this wonderful place we get to call home. See you on The Second Story!
